The Funeral is set in the depression era and revolves around three mobster brothers, Ray, Chez and Johnny Tempio. When Johnny is gunned down by the rival Spoglia family, Ray goes on the warpath. His wife Jeannette tries to dissuade her husband from his head-on clash, without success. Chez wants out. Sick of violence, sick of being a mobster, he starts feeling guilty. Inevitably, his road to redemption is strewn with bullet-ridden corpses.
