CARLO GIULIANI, RAGAZZO
The Italian director Francesca Comencini investigates the circumstances of the death of Carlo Giuliani who was shot in Genoa by a carabinieri on the 20th Juli 2001. The official Italian version said that it was self-defence. In Italy the screening is forbidden. «The idea of making this film came all at once, at the same moment I was announcing I would make it, during a press conference in Venise when, together with my colleagues, I was presenting the collective film Un altro mondo è possibile. Maybe because I heard Giuliano Giulianis words, the evening itself, in Genoa: I was deeply struck by their calmness, their desire for pacification, their gentleness, coming from a man whose son they had just killed.» (Francesca Comencini)
