Martin Bruch, who has been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 1992, can no longer ride the hand-pedalled bicycle he used to shoot Handbikemovie seven years ago. Even the fact that his illness advances, does not stop him from travelling. These days, he opts for the passenger seat for his travels, though: trips through Vienna, beautiful Tyrol, through Crete, Italy, Moscow, Phnom Penh or Guinea. In the end he has, thanks to his “virtual round-the-world trip”, covered 88,111 kilometres all around the globe. “I wouldn’t want to be a polar bear”, he says, ending his trip in the arctic. At least for now.
