Grainy images of pyramids are accompanied by a lyrical groaning as a story conveying the idea to sleep with a woman on top of a pyramid unfolds. «The comedy of a biography the biography of a comedy»: Thats how Klaus Wyborny refers to his experimental film Aus dem Zeitalter des Übermuts (From the Age of Recklessness). His film reveals a certain kind of world-view which, according to the director, was started by Baudelaire and Rimbaud, became a life style of its own at the turn of the century, reached its full flowering with the beat generation and was eventually vulgarized by the hippie movement.
