We meet the first narrator of this film, who soon becomes a mere listener, just as he murders his mentor. A stranger waiting outside the crime scene coerces him into a deal that will last until dawn: As the price for his escape, the murderer must listen to him, for one night - and at the end, have the three titular Danish crowns ready for a ship's passage. Cinéphilosopher Ruiz tells of imitation, similarities and multiplied identities, quotes Robert Louis Stevenson, maneuvers ships and destinies, alternating between colour and black and white: "What if our prison is so big that we can't leave it?" (Robert Weixlbaumer)
