Das kleine Buch
The starting point for DAS KLEINE BUCH is a brief sequence from an earlier work by Friedl vom Gröller. Projected onto a wall, it shows how a miniature book prompts laughter between the filmmaker and an acquaintance of hers. At home, two kids read the same tiny book alongside a very large one, use a typewriter and contemplate a painting, as the film playfully draws parallels between different types of analogue formats. Avoiding the mournful tone that often characterises discussions about physical media, it offers instead a gentle invitation to engage with their enduring delights. (Salvador Amores)
