Chant pour la ville enfouie

This documentary follows two previous films shot in the Calais Jungle, L’HÉROÏQUE LANDE and FUGITIF, OÙ COURS-TU?, where Klotz and Perceval trained a keen eye on the territory of northern France where 12,000 migrants built a unique emancipated city. Today, the land is terraced and covered with vegetation. Partly sung, partly silent, CHANT POUR LA VILLE ENFOUIE traces the border dividing humanity from the inhuman. “The grass always grows back over the border,” says the epigraph, a line by Heiner Müller, quoting Brecht.
