Eventide

Das jüngste Werk der bildenden Künstlerin stellt das atemberaubende Naturschauspiel eines schwedischen Küstenabschnittes im Dämmerlicht der hereinbrechenden Nacht aus. Die Kamera ist statisch, die einzige Action kommt von Menschen mit leuchtenden Mobiltelefonen, die, wie in einem heidnischen Ritual, nach einer rätselhaften Choreografie gemessenen Schrittes das steinige Terrain begehen. EVENTIDE ist sowohl eine meditative Studie wie auch ein Hymnus an die Kargheit. Und über all dem thront ein fulminanter Sternenhimmel. (Thomas Mießgang)

Night falls on a rocky seaside. As blue takes over the coastal landscape, a person appears and starts to wander the rocks looking for something. Soon more people join. Their cellphone flashlights seem to mimic the stars. Or are the stars mimicking them? As the sky grows darker and the stars take over, we see they are starting to move more than usual (the soft movement of the earth around its own star does not look like this). Is this magic? Yes and no: it is the Perseids seen from Gotland, Sweden. A meteor shower and a miracle that keeps this mysterious community of scavengers company. (Lucía Salas)
