Willem Dafoe began his career in the early 1980s and achieved his breakthrough with Oliver Stone’s war drama PLATOON (1986), which brought him international recognition. Since then, he has worked with acclaimed directors such as Martin Scorsese in THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST (1988), Lars von Trier in ANTICHRIST (2009), and Robert Eggers in THE LIGHTHOUSE (2019). Moving fluidly between major Hollywood productions and independent art-house films, Dafoe has consistently demonstrated his remarkable versatility. After his recent appearance in POOR THINGS (2023), he now takes on another striking role in THE SOUFFLEUR.
