Sophie Ahrens (she/her, *1989 in London) studied Film and Television Production at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Her graduation film, the documentary AMAZONEN EINER GROSSSTADT, was awarded Best Graduation Film 2021 at the Swiss Culture Awards and was released in Swiss cinemas in June 2021.
In 2016, she founded the production company Schuldenberg Films together with Kristof Gerega and Fabian Altenried. The company develops and produces art, short, feature, and documentary films. Together, they aim to create a home for filmmakers and their projects, realizing visionary and bold stories with a diverse, feminist, and progressive approach.
