Born in Vienna in 1981. She started dancing at the age of six in the Children’s Ballet Ensemble of the Baden Town Theatre in Baden/Vienna. She got her first acting job at the age of twelve. Then she transferred to a theatre club that allowed her to play around with the works of Goethe, Ionesco and Wedekind. After finishing her A-levels, she moved to Berlin and applied for the acting programme at the University of the Arts, into which she was immediately accepted. While studying at university she acted in many films, including Christoph Hochhäuslers I AM GUILTY (2005), which premiered in Cannes in the section „Un certain regard“. After graduating from university in 2007, she made her debut at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin in Nicolas Stemann's production of Elfriede Jelinek's „About Animals“.  She starred in Maximilian Erlenwein’s film GRAVITY (2009) which earned her the Max Ophüls Award as Best Young Actress in 2010.  International attention followed in 2010 with her portrayal of Magdalena Kopp in Olivier Assayas’s film CARLOS (2010), which celebrated its world premiere in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival and won a Golden Globe in 2011. Back at theater she worked alongside Robert Borgmann and Katja Lauken at the Schauspiel Köln. Before her recent collaboration with director and Academy Award nominee Götz Spielmann, she performed the bridging between theater and cinema while starring in Nuran David Calis’s film adaptation of Büchner’s play WOYZECK (2013).
