Screenwriter and director Monia Chokri started her career as an actress with notable roles. In 2013, while pursuing acting, Monia directed her first short film, An Extraordinary Person. It won over 15 awards in prestigious film festivals such as Locarno and South by Southwest. Her feature debut, A Brother’s Love (2019), is awarded the Coup de Coeur du jury – Un Certain Regard in Cannes. Her second feature film, Babysitter, is selected in the Midnight section at Sundance in 2022. Her third feature, The Nature of Love (2023), is presented at Cannes – Un Certain Regard (official selection) for its world premiere.
