Matteo Zoppis (Rome, 16/10/1986), is an Italian-American filmmaker. After studying law at Roma Tre University in Rome, he moved to New York, enrolling at New York University to study film directing. With a strong interest in the cultural values of oral tradition, his works have been selected at numerous international film festivals, including Cannes, the New York Film Festival, Rotterdam IFFR, The Art of the Real in New York, Doclisboa, Torino Film Festival (TFF), Göteborg International Film Festival, Rome International Film Festival, Sapporo, Cinéma du Réel, São Paulo International Film Festival, the Viennale, BAFICI in Buenos Aires, and RIDM in Montreal.
