Born in Baltimore in 1977. Studied film at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and shot his first feature film HAMILTON (2006, Viennale 07). With PUTTY HILL (2010, Viennale 10), he established himself as one of the most important representatives of a new realism in U.S. independent cinema. Teaches screenwriting and film production at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
