Born in Milan in 1972, she is an Italian documentary filmmaker. Since 2008, she has been working closely with Massimo D'Anolfi, with whom she founded the production company Montmorency Film. Together, they are responsible for the development, research, screenplay, production, cinematography and editing of several internationally acclaimed documentaries. Their works are characterised by a poetic visual style and an in-depth exploration of social and political issues. Her best-known works include I PROMESSI SPOSI (2006), GRANDI SPERANZE (2009), IL CASTELLO (2011), MATERIA OSCURA (2013), L'INFINITA FABBRICA DEL DUOMO (2015), SPIRA MIRABILIS (2016), BLU – BLUE (2018), GUERRA E PACE (2020), UNA GIORNATA NELL’ARCHIVIO DI PIERO BOTTONI (2022) and BESTIARI, ERBARI, LAPIDARI (2024). Her films have been screened at festivals such as Berlinale, Venice, Locarno and Hot Docs, and have won numerous awards.
