Martha Mechow, born in 1996 in Berlin, founded the directing collective Bäckerei Harmony together with Leonie Jenning at the age of 16. Since the 2021 / 2022 season they have been working together as house directors at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg Platz. Martha Mechow began working with directors such as René Pollesch, Max Linz, Melanie Kretschmann, Sarah Blaßkiewitz and Jan Koslowski while still in school, and has been acting in film and theater ever since.
She studied film at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg in 2017-2022. Her bachelor thesis film DIE ÄNGSTLICHE VERKEHRSTEILNEHMERIN (2023) won the award for the best graduate work of the HFBK sponsored by MOIN- Filmförderung and had its world premiere at FID Marseille.
