Maba Ba is a Senegalese-born filmmaker, actor, and producer based in New York. His journey into storytelling began in his youth, entertaining family with tales during power outages in Senegal. After studying computer science, he moved to New York, where he immersed himself in film, 3D animation, and acting. Ba has contributed to several critically acclaimed projects, including the interactive series #WarGames and the award-winning short film Samedi Cinema, which premiered at prestigious festivals like TIFF and Venice. As a producer, he was involved in Nafi’s Father, Senegal’s official entry for the 2021 Oscars. Through his company, JoyeDidi, Ba continues to champion African narratives on the global stage while also expanding into entrepreneurship with ventures like his Flying Whale wine brand.
