Luca Guadagnino is currently one of the most sought-after filmmakers of our time. The award-winning director and producer was born in Palermo on August 10, 1971, grew up in Ethiopia and studied literary history and film at La Sapienza University in Rome. With films such as CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, the remake of SUSPIRIA, BONES AND ALL and the tennis drama CHALLENGERS, he gained international recognition and fame for his subtle staging and visually captivating films. Guadagnino has a penchant for literary adaptations, including his pet project, the planned film adaptation of Thomas Mann's Buddenbrooks. Stars like Timothée Chalamet owe their breakthrough to him. Most recently, with QUEER (starring Daniel Craig), he also skillfully adapted a literary model.
