Born and raised in Austrian East Styria near Hungary and Slovenia. After the first role as an actor at the young age of eight, he turned to acting as a professional, while studying history and german later. During that time at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, he worked with artists such as Ferruccio Soleri, Oleg Tabakov and Samy Molcho. His first shooting, he experienced together with director Robert Dornhelm in 1996. Afterwards he concentrated on the role play on stage. From 1999 on he was a member of the Faust-ensemble by Peter Stone. About Hanover and Berlin, he tripped back to Vienna in 2001. Since then he has been working exclusively as a freelancer. One of the highlights among the various film and TV engagements include the title role in Alexander Sokurov's FAUST, shot in 2009 in the Czech Republic and Iceland and celebrating its world premiere at the 68th International Film Festival of Venice, where it won the Golden Lion.
