Jannis Lenz is a director and screenwriter. He studied directing in Jessica Hausner’s masterclass at the Film Academy Vienna, where he also worked as an assistant to Michael Haneke. Lenz’s graduation film from his master’s studies, SOLDAT AHMET (2021), premiered in competition at Visions du Réel in Nyon and received numerous awards, including the Guggenheim Emerging Artist Award and the Austrian Film Institute’s Young Talent Award for Directing. It was also nominated for the First Steps Award in Berlin and was released in cinemas in 2022. His first feature film OASE premiered in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival in 2026.
