Grégoire Debailly trained in production at La FEMIS. In 2005, he began working with Alain Rocca and Adeline Lécallier at the company Lazennec, where he produced L'APPRENTI (2008) and INDIGÈNES D'EURASIE (2010). He became a partner at Lazennec 3 in 2010 and produced two films under his own name, COMME UN LION (2012) and SPORT DE FILLES (2011). In 2013, he began collaborating with Frédéric Brillion and Gilles Legrand, and Lazennec 3 became Geko Films. Since this partnership, Grégoire has developed both his taste for auteur cinema and for international co-productions.
He produced GENTE DE BIEN, the first feature film by Franco Lolli, selected for the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, and TEMPÊTE by Samuel Collardey, awarded at the Venice Film Festival in 2015.
In 2017, he produced two films released in 2018: UNE ANNÉE POLAIRE, by Samuel Collardey, as well as SHÉHÉRAZADE, the first feature film by Jean-Bernard Marlin, selected for the Critics' Week at Cannes, winner of the Prix Jean Vigo, Best Film at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, and awarded three César Awards: Best First Film, Most Promising Actress, and Most Promising Actor. Since then, he has supported several filmmakers in producing their first feature films (TENGO SUEÑOS ELÉCTRICOS (2022) by Valentina Maurel, which received three awards at the Locarno Film Festival and around ten Grand Prizes worldwide), begun collaborations with the TV channel Arte, the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris, and established filmmakers on audiovisual projects (À L'ABORDAGE (2020) by Guillaume Brac, SAGES-FEMMES by Léa Fehner, awarded at the 2023 Berlinale, Panorama), while continuing international co-productions (EL OTRO HIJO (2023) by Juan Sebastián Quebrada, in co-production with Evidencia Films).
