After spending several years at the Institute of Art History at the University of Vienna, Georg went on to study cinematography at Filmcollege Vienna. His graduation film LIEBLING (directed by Sebastian Schmidl) was nominated for the First Steps Award and achieved success at numerous film festivals. His feature film debut, ZERSCHLAG MEIN HERZ (directed by Alexandra Makarová), was released in Austrian cinemas in 2019 and received several awards, including the Romy Award for Best Production. PERLA (directed by Alexandra Makarová) premiered in the Tiger Competition at IFFR Rotterdam in 2025 and won several awards that same year, including the Austrian Film Award, the Vienna Film Award at the Viennale, the Audience Award at Diagonale in Graz and the Romy Award for Best Feature Film. Georg also received the Austrian Film Award for Best Cinematography for PERLA. His most recent feature film, MILA/MARIJA (directed by Andrina Mračnikar), premiered at the Zurich Film Festival in 2026, where it received the Audience Award.
