Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1982. Works as a film scholar and historian, critic and curator. He writes for "Sight & Sound", "Film Comment" and "Cinema Scope". He teaches film at the University of Illinois and at Columbia College in Chicago. Recently he has written a book about Joe Dante. DOUBLE PLAY: JAMES BENNING AND RICHARD LINKLATER is his first directorial work.
