Daniela Zyman is the artistic director of Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21), a private foundation established by Francesca Thyssen-Bornemisza in Vienna and currently headquartered in Madrid, Spain. TBA21 is committed to commissioning and showcasing immersive works that intersect art, science, and environmental practices, engaging critically with contemporary socio-political and ecological concerns. Since joining TBA21 in 2003, Daniela has been pivotal in shaping the foundation’s exhibitions and commissions. Prior to her role at TBA21, Daniela served as chief curator at the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art in Vienna from 1995 to 2001, where she also co-founded and programmed the MAK Center for Art and Architecture in Los Angeles. She then worked as artistic director of the Künstlerhaus, Vienna, and as director of A9 Forum Transeuropa, a program within Q21 at Vienna’s Museumquartier from 2000 to 2003.
