Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and based for the past two decades in South Bohemia, Czech Republic, Christian Farrell creates films, performances, and installations presented internationally at festivals and exhibitions including the Sundance Film Festival, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and the Whitney Biennial. He is a founding member of the cinematic collaborative silt, alongside Keith Evans and Jeff Warrin, whose expanded cinema works explored "paranaturalist" approaches to natural phenomena, sites, and processes. His current work continues a place-based inquiry into genius loci, drawing on animist, hermetic, para-scientific, spiritualist, and mystical traditions.
