Antonia Bill began performing on stage with her family as a child. After studying acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, she spent six years as a permanent ensemble member at the BERLINER ENSEMBLE, where she appeared in more than twenty productions – including works directed by Leander Haußmann, Katharina Thalbach, Robert Wilson, and Claus Peymann, among others. During this time, she played numerous leading roles and was awarded the “Daphne Prize” by the Theatergemeinde Berlin for her performances.
In addition to her theater work, Antonia Bill is a passionate interpreter of chansons and won first prize at the Berlin National Singing Competition, accompanied by Rainer Bielfeldt on piano. She made her feature film debut in Edgar Reitz’s award-winning film DIE ANDERE HEIMAT – CHRONIK EINER SEHNSUCHT. The experience profoundly shaped her artistic approach and continues to influence her work in film today.
Since 2018, Antonia Bill has been working as a freelance actress. After leaving her permanent engagement, she has appeared as a guest performer at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, and the Volksbühne Berlin, among others. She continues to perform her solo piece “Das kunstseidene Mädchen,” adapted by Carsten Golbeck with music by Rainer Bielfeldt, for which she received the Audience Award at the “Woche junger Schauspieler” festival in Bensheim.
In recent years, she has increasingly focused on film and television productions. Her leading roles include Leander Haußmann’s feature film STASIKOMÖDIE, the two-part television drama Sturm kommt auf, based on Oskar Maria Graf’s novel Unruhe um einen Friedfertigen (directed by Matti Geschonneck), as well as the Cologne-set TATORT episode Siebte Etage (directed by Hüseyin Tabak), which recently attracted significant media attention for its topical subject matter and distinctive cinematic style. The feature film LEIBNIZ – CHRONICLE OF A LOST PAINTING, directed by Edgar Reitz, is among her most recent works.
