Vision is structured on point-counterpoint. The opening sequences include voice-over footage of Gerard Malanga reading from his poetry counterpointed by rare newsreel footage Malanga acquired from Istituto Luce (Rome) depicting the inaugural trial-runs of the «S.S. Rex» in 1932, the new flagship of Linea Italiana, which Gerards father sailed on in the mid-Thirties to visit his relatives in Italy. Vision has had a few scattered screenings over the years. Otherwise it has acquired a quiet underground cult following.
