TROIS MINIATURES

An insightful work from cineaste, critic, and actor Pierre Léon: In 1947 Eisenstein dicusses the second part of Ivan Grozny with Stalin. A la barbe d’Ivan uses images of Eisensteins’s classic to reflect upon the mechanism of politics. The second film was shot during the Viennale 2008 and shows Ingrid Caven’s concert at the festival, ending at Schubert’s grave. The Trilogy ends with a portrait of the filmmaker and actor Vladimir Léon, Pierre Léon's brother.
