SHI JIE

Shie Jie is a film about temporal disparity, globalisation and modern times. In a miniature theme park symbolically representing the universe from the Egyptian Pyramids to the Arc de Triomphe, Tao, a dancer entertaining tourists with flashy folklore, runs into the lonely security guard Taisheng. Their little love story, their emotions, their happiness and their disappointment are the real and living parts in an artificial, allegorical world where real relationships do not exist.
