Tymofiy, a young potter, makes his mind up to go on a trip he has been dreaming about forever and go as far as possible from his wife. Against the Sun is a movie about a young man looking for an ideal woman. He is in a quest for an artistic self-expression, which derives from his life experience. Tymofiy tries to overcome marriage problems by creating a masterpiece; in the end he returns home, relieved.
