POETRY

Initially, we see an impressive façade, which, viewed from the side, resembles huge ears. In a voice-over that simultaneously seems to come from inside the building we hear the recording of a James Ellroy reading in Los Angeles. Now Pirker changes perspectives and suddenly the ears turn into inordinately large eyes, reflecting a red sunset. This is what poetry is about: we have to hear it, read it, absorb it, allow it to sink in and resonate.
