Michelin, one of the worlds leading tyre manufacturers, has been run as an old-fashioned family-owned business for decades. Its owner, a mysterious figure who shuns publicity, has recently published a book, a collection of his reactionary views of the world and management philosophy. The documentary Paroles de Bibs juxtaposes these statements with the actual working conditions of Michelin workers, with lay-offs, accidents and production conditions at the Clermont-Ferrand factory.
