Le Mouton enragé tells the story of a meek little bank clerk (played by Jean-Louis Trintignant) who finds fame and fortune when he begins getting lessons from an impoverished second-rate novelist (Jean-Pierre Cassel). Soon the clerk is wowing the Parisians with his ability to make the women swoon, and for his talent for attracting money. Devilles delicious tone, keeping you constantly off-balance but enrapt, pushes Le Mouton enragé to a very high level.
