LONDON CALLING

Nagasaki Shunichi
J 1985
13 min
V'06

Nagasaki Shunichi receives a phone call in his hotel room in London where he is staying as a guest to London International Film Festival. Couldn't it be his girlfriend who has been missing? Being triggered by the notion, Nagasaki starts to wander in London town looking for the lost lover. This is a fake documentary film intertwined with fiction and reality. Nagasaki shot London Calling while attending the Festival screening of his 1982 version of Heart, Beating in the Dark. It's a wickedly funny account of the search for a long-lost girlfriend, which broadens into a meditation on memory itself.
