<i>Life Without Death</i> is a tour-de-force of independent filmmaking. The award-winning documentary made by the late Frank Cole is a heroic travel diary of the filmmaker's solitary trek across the Sahara desert on camelback. The journey, which took place in 1990 and placed Frank Cole in the Guinness Book of Records, lasted eleven months during which time the filmmaker painstakingly navigated his way through Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad and Sudan.
