IL Y AVAIT QUOI
The voice of Godard meanders under the music of the Kreutzer sonata through memories, freely associated from the early times of the Nouvelle Vague – meetings, talks, places -, stumbles, drifts off, catches itself again. Text boards with titles of Rohmer’s/Schérer’s essays as critics in the Godard-colors: the title light blue and red, the Rohmer quotes white, the name Maurice Schèrer in strong blue over the black and white photo of the distinctive face. At the end Godard himself, old, tired, reads the text in the micro of the video camera. At the right bottom the enigmatically running time code: 20.07.2009 13:50.
