The Story of Kindness centers around the last words of a dying filmmaker, i.e., to do something inspired by human love or about human suffering. The words resulted in a scathingly controversial account of violence perpetrated throughout Vietnam. Though it eventually became a film hallmark within the country, the film was banned upon its initial release. (Tracie Cooper)
