Der Balletterzherzog

Instead of taking care of political business, the archduke visits the ballet rehearsals at the Court Opera. Surrounded by young elves he is like a bee in clover. And inevitably he falls in love with one of the young women. But his adjutant also has an eye for her. Director Max Neufeld plays with the idea of a period, specifically the fall of the monarchy. Even from a modern point of view, the yearning for “the old days” has never been so unconventionally satirized in Austrian Film.
