Sounds From Home

How to survive the far right? Two possibilities present themselves in this film: a) move across the world or b) take up birdwatching. Silver’s mother sends messages from home while observing the avian life around her. They contain a pinch of the zeitgeist: comments on everyday life as politics becomes wackier, hints about what it means to grow old together with her husband. Meanwhile, Silver and his wife capture a new life in France, full of unfamiliar birds and a little nostalgia. A hard, fast and beautiful video correspondence written together from afar. This film will be shown as part of the screening Verses From Home.
