A major figure of the New Argentine Cinema, Martín Rejtman returns almost a decade after DOS DISPAROS with a new elegantly ironic comedy about a man trying to keep his balance while everything collapses around him. Gustavo, a yoga teacher from Buenos Aires living in Santiago de Chile, separates from his Chilean wife and is taken in by his brother and sister-in-law. His overprotective mother pressures him to return home, he undergoes couples therapy with his ex-wife, then ends up twisting his meniscus and is forced to swap yoga for the gym. Accidents, thefts, memory loss and anti-inflammatories are the order of the day, but a meeting with a former student offers a glimmer of hope for new love.

With its droll dialogues and comical slapstick situations, LA PRÁCTICA revolves around the many ups and downs of the impassive Gustavo, who takes everything life throws at him in his stride. Masterfully combining deadpan humour and absurdity, the film depicts a world where wellness, retreats, diets and yoga postures intermingle with the most unpredictable of events, including falling into a manhole while walking down the street.
