Polycephaly In D
Robinson’s film depicts an unusual experience shared by two men (both played by James Andrew). Through a highly particular set of circumstances, two typically diametrical emotions, terror and love, coincided for the pair. That is to say, the pleasure of their meeting, literally falling into each other’s arms, was shadowed by the shock of sudden disaster, the possibility that this sudden instance of romantic bliss might in fact be the last moment of their lives. Robinson produces a complex latticework between romance and horror, although the real affective work of POLYCEPHALY exists between the men’s interactions, in the unexpected collisions of Robinson’s montage.
