Pocos son los que conocen el secreto del amor - V2
This programme presents some of Narcisa Hirsch’s more personal films; highly autobiographical in nature, they deal with her emotional relationships. Feelings of intimacy and closeness are depicted through words, songs or impressions of landscapes, such as in PATAGONIA, which reflects her close connection to Argentina’s natural world and the people around her. Some films look at the possibility of relationships, like POCOS CONOCEN EL SECRETO DEL AMOR or RAFAEL, AGOSTO DE 1984, the latter a moving love letter that celebrates the experience of an important bond. Others, like SEGURO QUE BACH CERRABA SU PUERTA CUANDO QUERÍA TRABAJAR, are about self-perception and autobiographical reflection over time, bringing aspects of the discourse about women, the feminine and feminism from the beginning of the 1960s up to date. The programme opens with a very special World Premiere: a video letter that Hirsch made for Hans Hurch after attending the 2012 Viennale. (Cecilia Barrionuevo)
