A Short Story
Simply described as a fairy tale, Bi Gan’s new film is a 15-minute sensorial experience that is indeed quite difficult to put in words. It all starts with the encounter between a black cat and a scarecrow and a subsequent mysterious journey. “What’s the most precious thing in the world?”, the cat asks at some point, and even if the plot never seems to provide clear answers, the director of KAILI BLUES and LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT takes that question as the inspiration for a film constructed from the stuff dreams are made of.
