Ingeborg and Adam are superlative surgeons and the perfect couple. Everything in their lives exudes symmetry, precision, beauty and neatness: the house they live in, their daily routines, the objects surrounding them and the clothes they wear. They are the strangest combination of neat and sensual. One day, they remove a sixth finger from the hand of a mysterious young woman named Gaia, who asks to keep the tiny limb as a souvenir. At that moment, something shifts; accidents start to happen and a life of total order now starts giving way to a world of strange mutation. A third presence alters not only their routines and the way desire moves within them, but also the shape of everything around them, as nature starts to mysteriously filter through the cracks and leave its traces on every surface. OBJET A creates and explores a universe of complete human artificiality and then, as if conducting an experiment in a laboratory of shapes and textures, starts administering gradual doses of what seems to be the complete opposite: the animal, the mineral, the vegetable. This subsequent clash may offer a way back to nature, itself always already transformed. (Lucía Salas)
