Microcosmic Orbit: Encased

Quantum theory tells us that the order of the world appears as disorder when viewed up close. Yet it also tells us that laws govern this chaos, even if we do not understand them. Rhyming microscopic images with jungle landscapes, the almost tactile MICROCOSMIC ORBIT: ENCASED is a physical, evocative film about echoes, hidden rules and patterns beyond chance. It portrays a system that is as beautiful as it is complex and utterly resistant to change—perhaps a metaphor for an oppressive reality that the filmmaker elegantly leaves off-screen. This film will be shown as part of the screening THE DEPTHS.
