Céline Sciamma pivots towards non-fiction as she crafts a typically sensitive tribute to Patrizia Cavalli in her new short film. Capturing and thus archiving the celebrated Italian poet’s house shortly before it was to be cleared, following her death in 2022, Sciamma dedicates two compositions to each room. But Cavalli was also a cinephile who harboured a childhood crush on Kim Novak, another outsider figure despite the emblematic status she attained due to her work with Hitchcock.
