Another Earth

There is another form of existence beneath the degraded surface of contemporary life on Earth. There is the accelerated time of genocide and reels to be scrolled through, but there is also another time, hidden, underground. And it takes a monologue repeated over and over, like a litany, to make it resurface. It also takes the ancient power of superimpositions, composed like a visual ceremony. Stratifying time to rediscover the virtues of material presence: a child under the sun and a cinematic ritual to cast a counter-spell against the algorithm. (Victor Guimarães)
