The Viennale Podcast extends conversations beyond the festival, bringing together festival director Eva Sangiorgi and guests to discuss cinema, filmmakers, and selected programmes.
In the first episode of the relaunched Viennale Podcast, festival director Eva Sangiorgi is joined by Christoph Huber, curator at the Austian Filmmuseum and this year’s joint retrospective Robert Aldrich.
They explore the work and turbulent career of one of Hollywood’s great outsiders, a director who redefined genres with films such as Kiss Me Deadly, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, The Dirty Dozen and Ulzana’s Raid, while persistently bringing a critical and subversive perspective to popular cinema.
The Robert Aldrich retrospective is a joint program of the Viennale and the Austrian Film Museum and will be shown from the October 23 to November 3, 2026.
