A chuva acalanta a dor

Pasolini began EDIPO RE in the contemporary world before plunging into the mythic past. Leonardo Mouramateus adopts the same structure for this wry fable, without returning to the present. A modern-day Portuguese couple is about to move to Rome; nearby, a mad poet dances. Then, in a past inspired by Marcel Schwob’s “biographical fiction”, we observe the problems of philosopher-poet Lucretius – increasingly absorbed by the theory of atomic particles, decreasingly able to satisfy his black wife.
