Maureen Fazendeiro, born in 1989, is a French filmmaker and screenwriter living in Lisbon. She studied literature, art and film at Denis Diderot University in Paris and worked for the Independencia publishing house. Her short films MOTU MAEVA (2014) and BLACK SUN (2019) have been screened at international film festivals, film libraries and museums. In recent years, she has also worked as a casting director and screenwriter with Miguel Gomes, with whom she co-directed THE TSUGUA DIARIES (2021). This film has been released in several countries. Two films are currently in post-production: the medium-length film LES HABITANTS and the feature film THE SEASONS.
